Lemongrass Green Apple Drink


I saw a post on this drink on Facebook sometime ago. This drink appealed to me because I like both green apples and lemongrass and thought this combination will work well. Indeed the drink is refreshing and I have been cooking it regularly since. It is good for knee pain according to the post, but I am not sure about it because I am not drinking to treat knee pain.  I have tried using different amount of lemongrass and green apples and below is our favourite.

Ingredients (serves 3-4)
3 green apples
12 stalks of lemongrass
About 1.5 litres of water


Method
1. Peel the apples and cut in cubes.

2. Cut off  a bit of the 2 dried ends of the lemongrass stalks. Use the back of the knife to bruise the fat end of the lemongrass. Cut the lemongrass into 2-3 parts.

3. Add chopped apples, lemongrass and  water into a pot. Bring it to a boil and simmer for about 20-30minutes until the apples are soft.

4. We like it without added sugar and we eat the apples too.
  
5.  Serve warm or cooled.

  1. This Lemongrass Green Apple Drink recipe is so easy to make at home. I would love to try this on the weekend. I can use the lemongrass in my regular Green drink too. What do you think about it?

  2. I have not tried it before, but there are many green smoothies/drinks recipes using lemongrass. Should work i think.
